ABOUT KAL’S BRAKES SERVICES

What is included in a free visual brake inspection?

During our free brake inspection, a technician checks for visible signs of wear or damage—without removing major components—to help determine whether your brakes are safe or if further service is needed.

A visual brake inspection typically includes:

• Checking brake pad thickness and wear

• Inspecting brake rotors for scoring, rust, or uneven wear

• Looking for fluid leaks around brake lines, hoses, and calipers

• Inspecting sliders and guides for proper lubrication

• Assessing brake hardware for obvious corrosion or damage

• Confirming brake fluid level

If you’re hearing new sounds, feeling less stopping power, or getting ready for a trip, a free brake inspection is the best place to start.

What is included in a brake service?

A brake service involves fully disassembling your brakes, so each component can be cleaned, inspected, and properly lubricated. While removing rust, road grime, and salt buildup, our technicians can closely examine individual parts and identify components that may need replacement.

Regular maintenance of the braking system not only ensures they function properly but can also prolong the life of your brakes. This is also true of EV’s and hybrids that use one-pedal drive; mechanical brakes used less frequently wear or seize differently.

What’s included in a Kal Tire brake package and how much does it cost?

Our experienced technicians replace worn brake components with new high‑quality parts that meet or exceed OE specifications, and our service is backed by our industry‑leading warranty. Here’s what’s included:

• New brake pads, brake rotors, or shoes and drums

• Installation of parts by trained technicians

• Caliper servicing (cleaning and lubricating of caliper slides)

• Inspecting and topping up of the brake fluid system

Brake package pricing varies depending on your vehicle, as different makes and models require specific brake components. To help you estimate costs, we offer an online tool that provides a price based on your vehicle’s year, make, and model.

What warranty does Kal Tire offer on new brakes?

We offer a 3‑year or 40,000‑kilometre warranty on brake replacement services, whichever comes first. If any brake parts or workmanship fail during that period, we will replace the defective parts and handle the installation at no cost (personal‑use vehicles only; some exclusions apply). Coverage includes brake pads, rotors, shoes, drums, calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, and brake hoses or lines.

How often should brakes be serviced?

We recommend having your brakes serviced every 2 years or 20,000 km’s. Your seasonal tire change appointment is an ideal time to request a free visual brake inspection to see if a brakes service or replacement is required.

Regular brake service helps to ensure safe stopping performance, reduce the risk of unexpected repairs, and can help extend the life of your braking system—especially in Canadian driving conditions where weather, road salt, and steep terrain can accelerate wear.
