Strength and safety on the highway for trucks and SUVs that need to tow or haul are what the Defender LTX M/S does best. It's a solid all-around tire that uses the Michelin Evertread compound, providing high strength for loads and increased durability over the LTX M/S2 it replaces. A symmetric tread provides high stability, as well as excellent resistance to hydroplaning thanks to four wide circumferential channels, multiple lateral grooves and open shoulder slots. Michelin's MaxTouch Construction also maximizes the contact patch and evenly distributing the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering. It's a tough tire that will take the punishment and last.

?Summer vs Winter Tests

BRAKING

We varied our approach speeds by driving surface and by season for two reasons. First, this represents how most Canadians would normally drive on that surface in each season. Second, testing in both seasons provides an indication of how a tire's performance will be affected by road temperature.

CORNERING

To understand how road surface temperatures affect the cornering performance of a tire, our cornering tests are completed in both summer conditions (dry and wet pavement, and gravel roads) and winter conditions (dry, wet and icy pavement). Please note that slush is also tested but completed in a specific slush cornering test..

?Independent & Objective Testing

The independent tire testers conducted extensive tests to determine how the tires in our core line-up perform in a range of conditions in both summer and winter. To maintain neutrality, no driver knew the specifics of the tires they were testing each time. All results were analyzed and processed by the testing group and then provided to Kal Tire for sharing with our customers.

Slow leak, poor recommendations on ball joint replacement
2
4 days ago by GREG NIELSEN.

Kal tire told me I needed new upper and lower ball joints. I had not noticed any issues driving so I had two technicians from my regular garage inspect them and they both indicated they were fine. Also have a slow leak on one of the new tires they put on. Tires themselves are fine.

Great Tire

Cant give it a 5 as I have not been able to try them in winter conditions. Others have said that they are noisy, and I can say that from my experience they are quiet and the ride is smooth.

new tires

I really haven't had these tires long enough to form an opinion! The weather has been dry and I haven't driven out of Vernon. They are certainly good looking tires and I believe that they will be my last set of tires that I will need.
