I can’t imagine a better more balanced tire

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are an amazing tire at any price point. The straight ahead and lateral traction is far superior to the “high performance ZR” rated tires that came stock with my car in dry and wet conditions and well beyond my expectations in light snow (not recommended!). I’m looking forward to some warmer roads to see if I can do better that 1.2g on some corners.

Ordered a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport 4S tires for a 2015 BMW M5. It took about 3 weeks to get the tires shipped to the store I had selected for the installation, which I have used before. The service advisor came out to greet me when I drove up and quickly had my car in to do the installation. The job was completed in less than an hour and the service advisor was very efficient at getting the paperwork done.
The tag left in the car showing the wheel torque and tire pressure indicated a pressure of 31 psi; the factory recommended pressure is 35 psi. When I got home I checked the pressures and they were close to the recommended 35 but all a bit different. The tires are great although we haven't had any wet weather to see how they are on wet pavement.
Now comes the bad part . Two weeks later took my car to my BMW dealer to have rear brake pads replaced and thy found one of the wheel bolts had damaged threads, and the hub threads were also damaged. For safety reasons the hub has to be replaced and my car out of commission until the replacement hub arrives from Germany in 2-1/2 weeks! The first thing the dealership asked was if the wheels were off the car recently. I called the Kal Tire store and told them of the damage. To their credit the manager immediately took responsibility and told me to have the dealership invoice them for the replacement hub. However I am without my car for over two weeks and a planned road trip now in doubt.
I find the level of service at this shop to be very good and friendly, but their shop keeps making technical mistakes. This is the third time there has been some sort of issue, the previous ones resulting in them having to give credit for two new tires after the beads were damaged removing them from the rims. The other incident was a minor one but something they should have noticed and corrected immediately after driving it out of the shop. In those instances as well they took full responsibility without trying to present any arguments so it's nice to deal with a reputable company that doesn't give you the runaround.

The tires are amazing in wet and dry. The Kal Tire experience was mostly professional and courteous.

My only concern is that the manufacture date marked on one of the tires is 1117 making it over 15 months old. The other 3 were manufactured in the 40s of 2017.

This wouldn’t be too much of problem on a regular passenger car, but on a sports car, tires expire before tread life is worn down. I replaced my previous tires because two were expired (more than 6 years old on a Porsche).

I had hoped Kal tire would use newer tires.
