Disappointed.

I was quite disappointed that my appointment took nearly 3 hours to complete today. My appointment was at 4:30 PM and I didn’t leave until after 7 PM. As the evening went on, there was only one person handling the front desk and calling people when their vehicle was ready. And while I looked at my parked car sitting outside ready to go, they seemed more concerned with sharing snacks than getting me back into my car after I sat there for 3 hours.

I was then told that although they’ve known a week that I required TPMS sensors on my 2020 vehicle, that they didn’t have compatible ones. It seems to me that if I’m going to be spending upwards of $1,400 at Kal Tire, they could have arranged for the right sensors to be ready with a weeks notice for my appointment. Then I was told that they might have to update their sensor software so they can install them, after they call Kia, wait for the sensors to come in, call me and schedule another appointment. They could not tell me how long this second appointment would be either.

All in all, I think I will be going elsewhere for future tire dealings. Apparently I will get a call Monday about the sensors, but I’m not feeling confident about that.

Beyond expectations!

I had an appointment for 9: AM. Because I knew the roads were bad and the traffic would be a nightmare prior to 9: AM I showed up at the door at 7:15 AM. I am a senior so time is not a problem. The fellow booked me in and said there were prior appointments so it would be unlikely to get me in any earlier. I said no problem. Asked if they had wifi which was affirmative so settled in for a relaxing wait. 7:50 AM another gentleman called my name and said my vehicle was ready to go. 😳 Gotta like that. Probably a cancellation or whatever. I did not ask. Just pleased that I was in and out so quickly on Calgary’s first big snowfall day. And I took advantage of the $10.00 off for early season booking, so even sweeter. I must comment that the place seemed very organized as I assumed it would be a gong show with the stormy weather. Will certainly be returning in the fall for my seasonal swap-over. And I must comment on the bags that my tires were placed in. They use new bags every time. The last business that was doing my tires kept re-using the plastic bags and they were filthy. Not a big thing but it was to me. Why would I want to get my clothing dirty unloading my tires for storage in my residence. Thank you.
