TPMS
Tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) are a safety device installed by the factory to alert the driver of a low tire. TPMS each year more and more vehicles are coming from the factory with these safety systems. The most common systems uses a sensor mounting inside the tire to measure tire pressures directly and then transmits this information wirelessly to on board electronics. Less common systems use the vehicles anti lock brake system (ABS) to measure wheel speed to calculate tire diameter as an indication of a low tire. A yellow warning light illuminates if tire pressures are not in the factory-preset range once the vehicle speed reaches 30 km and hour.
Special tools, procedures and replacement parts are required when servicing vehicles with TPMS. Kal Tire stores are equipped and trained to look after these vehicles keeping your vehicle operating at peak efficiency and as safe as designed by the factory.
