You'd be hard pressed to find a better all-around tire for all-seasons. The WR gets high marks in myriad conditions, scoring "very good" to "excellent" in every category of our fall and winter outdoor testing. It performs well on both wet and dry pavement, snow and ice and excels in dangerous slushy conditions via its sharply chamfered Slush Edge on the tire's inner edge. The two deep circumferential grooves on the asymmetric tread dispel large amounts of water quickly, and the self-locking 3D sipes on the center tread portion provide excellent stability and lateral support while cornering.

Kal's Test Results

"Good performance on dry and wet pavement for an all-weather tire. Initial steering response not particularly crisp, but gets the job done."

BRAKING

We varied our approach speeds by driving surface and by season for two reasons. First, this represents how most Canadians would normally drive on that surface in each season. Second, testing in both seasons provides an indication of how a tire's performance will be affected by road temperature.

CORNERING

To understand how road surface temperatures affect the cornering performance of a tire, our cornering tests are completed in both summer conditions (dry and wet pavement, and gravel roads) and winter conditions (dry, wet and icy pavement). Please note that slush is also tested but completed in a specific slush cornering test..

?Independent & Objective Testing

The independent tire testers conducted extensive tests to determine how the tires in our core line-up perform in a range of conditions in both summer and winter. To maintain neutrality, no driver knew the specifics of the tires they were testing each time. All results were analyzed and processed by the testing group and then provided to Kal Tire for sharing with our customers.

Great tires in all conditions
5
3 weeks ago by KATHERINE THAIN.

These tires have been great in all conditions experienced so far except thick ice on a hill where I think most tires would have struggled to grip. In the recent heavy rain and pooling water I had no trouble at all, no hydroplaning despite my car being very light (Honda Fit). On dry roads there is far less road noise than I was used to with my old tires which is wonderful. I really like these tires and would purchase them again. We recently had a small fall of snow which the tires handled with no problem at all. I have weighted my car with sand bags now so the forthcoming snowfall of several inches doesn't worry me at.

All-weather tires
3.5
1 month ago by VIDA VISPO.

There are times that it feels like the tires are too slippery with small rocks and ice. Traction is so so in those conditions. A little noisy when driving but very least concerning. Overall, an okay tire for the current weather, haven’t tried it with slush/snowy day.
