What is the difference between summer and winter wiper blades?

Through sleet, blizzards and spring rainstorms, your windshield wiper blades play an important role in giving you a clear view of the road. But how do summer wiper blades and winter wiper blades work to keep your windshield clear in different conditions?

WINTER WIPER BLADES

With winter wiper blades, you don’t have to worry about ice freezing around the joints, between the bars and the sturdy frame. The rubber stays soft and flexible, even in freezing temperatures to help resist ice build-up as well as tearing.

SUMMER WIPER BLADES

Summer blades tend to use a thinner layer of rubber to make contact with your window, and it’s often made of mostly natural rubber, which works well in mild and warm temperatures. With such a thin, lightweight frame, you’ll hardly know your blades are there until it’s raining and they’re fast at work.
