Builder

The magazine is transferred to the builder where the rolling-on of rubber occurs. The casing is inflated to 20 psi and the new rubber is laid onto the rotating casing. Once the two ends meet, they are spliced together. Next a stitcher is applied to the tire, working its way continuously from the centre to an outside edge while applying 1000lbs of pressure. The purpose of the stitcher is to remove any excess air between the new rubber and the tire and to ensure proper adhesion. The tire continues to rotate around the stitcher until the proper diameter is achieved. The excess rubber is then trimmed and recycled.
